How can money best be transferred to Cuba from the UK?

I am a language student about to spend my year abroad in Cuba. I need to be able to access money and want to know the best way for my parents to send me money from England. Are there any recommended methods?? I have a Barclays bank account in the UK, however I am aware that using cashpoints etc can be very very expensive. Are there any better methods? I will be there for 10 months.
